B Category questions
1. Show or tell how to lock and unlock the steering wheel.
B category questions are the easiest of them all. But you shouldn't take it too lightly, that's why read the questions carefully. Good luck !
Turn off the engine, take out the key and turn the steering wheel until you hear a click. To unlock it put in the key, and turn the key and the steering wheel at the same time.
If it is a Start/Stop button it usually locks and unlocks automatically, in some cases you need to open the driver's door and turn the steering wheel to lock it. Unlock it by closing the door and simply turning on the engine.


2. How will you check the oil level in the engine.
Open the hood, take out the dipstick, clean it, put it back in, take it out again and check where the level is. It should be between minimum and maximum marks.
The car should be standing on flat ground and the engine should be cold.


3. Show or tell how do you check if the power steering is working.
If the engine is turned on, the steering wheel should move very easily. If the steering wheel requires a lot of strength to move it, there is a problem with power steering.
It might even be shown on the dashboard.


4. Show where to turn on the rear window heating.
There is a special button for it. It shows a rectangular shape with wavy arrows pointing upwards.


5. How will you check the level of coolant so you know there is enough of it.
The tank is located under the hood. The liquid might be yellow, pink, green, purple or blue. The level should be between minimum and maximum marks.


6. How will you check the parking brake / handbrake so you know it is working.
Pull the handbrake and try driving forward. If the car is not moving, the handbrake is working.
Other method is you can stop downhill or uphill, put the gear in neutral and pull up the handbrake. If the car is not rolling, the brake works.


7. Where you will refill the window washer fluid.
The tank is located under the hood. On the cap it shows a window with a water stream going upwards.


8. How do you check if the front and rear window washing system is working.
When the lever is pushed towards or from yourself, the washing fluid should come out on the window and the wipers should start wiping the window.


9. How do you check if the horn is working.
When you press the airbag with a horn marking on the steering wheel, a loud beep sound should come out.


10. How do you know if there is no malfunction in the anti-lock braking system (ABS).
When you turn on the engine, a light of ABS will turn on and after a while it should turn off. If it is still on, there is some problem with it.
Other way is when suddenly braking, the wheels lock and you won't feel brake pedal vibrating.


11. How do you check the level of the brake fluid.
You locate the tank that is directly under the brake pedal and check if the level of the fluid is between minimum and maximum.


12. How do you check the turn signals so you know they are working.
Turn the turn signal on, go out and check myself. Also you can ask your friend's help. If the turn signal blinks very fast or very slow, it means the lightbulb needs to be changed.


13. How will you check the brake lights so you know they are working.
Leave the car for safe standing, put a heavy object on a brake pedal and go out check myself.
Ask my friend to go out and check for me.
If it is dark you can get close to a wall and press brake while looking at a side mirror and try to see if there is a reflection of the light.


14. How will you check the service brake so you know it is working.
When pressed down, the pedal should go only halfway down. If the pedal goes all the way down, it means there is a problem with the brake.


15. How will you check that all the lights are working.
Turn on all the lights, and then go outside myself and look if they are working.
Also I can ask help of my friend to go outside and look for me.
There laso might be a warning on the dashboard.


16. Where will you look for the recommended information for the tire pressure.
On the left, drivers side doorframe, on the fuel cap or in the car manual.


17. How will you check the air pressure in the tires so you know it's safe to be driving.
I will use a special gauge (manometer).


18. How will you check the tire tread / protector depth so you know it is safe to be driving.
I will use a special measuring tool.
In summer the minimum should be 1.6mm.
In winter the minimum should be 3mm.


19. How will you check the overall tire condition so you know it is safe to drive.
I will walk around the car and look at the tires. There should be no damage, no cuts, no bumps or screws in the tires.


20. How will you check the hazard lights so you know they are working.
I will turn on the hazard lights and get out of the car and look if it is working. I can also ask my friend to check for me after I turn them on.
