C/CE/D Category Questions
If you're reading this you've probably passed B category test and are going forward. Great ! Now there are more questions than in B test, but I believe in you, best of luck !




1. How will you check that all doors including cargo doors are correctly closed?
I'll check manually by going around myself and checking with hand that all doors are closed. Also there might be a warning on the dashboard about some of the doors being opened.


2. How will you check that there is no leak in air system.
I will go outside and listen for the air leaking soung.


3. What do you need to pay attention to when loading the cargo.
You need to pay attention if the weight is not more than the axis allow.
Heavier cargo should be on the bottom, lighter on the top.
The cargo must be strapped securely and the cargo shouldn't be bigger than the the car.


4. How will you check the condition of the lights and the reflectors.
Manually by going outside and looking if the lights are not cracked or damaged, if they are all working and look for any warning signs on the dashboard.
Check if the reflectors are not dirty and broken.




5. How will you check the condition of the windows.
I will check if the window is not cracked, not damaged and clean.


6. How will you check the condition of the mudguards.
I will check if the mudguard is not broken, not loose.


7. How will you check if there is enough tire tread / protector depth.
I will use a special measuring tool.
For trucks the minimum is 1mm all year round.


8. How will you check the condition of the wipers.
I will try to clean the window and see if the wipers clean nice, there is no marks left on the window and the rubber is not cracked.


9. How will you check the condition of the body of the car.


I will look if the body is not damaged, there is no rust and the are no loose screws.
10. How will you check if there is no leak in the braking system.
I will start the engine and fill the air, then turn off the engine and look at the air pressure gauge on the dashboard. If the air is going down real fast that means there is a problem. Also I can go out and listen for the leaking sound.
Normal air level is somewhere around 125psi ( 8.5 bar )


11. How will you check the level of the oil in the engine.
Manually by taking out the dipstick, cleaning it and putting it back again. Then you take out the dipstick and the oil marking should be between minimum and maximum marks.
The engine should be cold and the truck should be standing on a flat ground.


12. How will you check that all the nuts on the wheels are tightly screwed on.
Manually with wrench.


13. How will you check the condition and the position of the air suspension.
I will go outside and see if the truck is standing straight, the springs are not loose and there is no air leaking sound.


14. How will you change the tachograph card.
I will take out the old one and put in the new one.


15. What do you need to pay attention to on the dashboard before starting the engine.
I will turn on the ignition and look at the dashboard if there are no warning signs.


16. What do you need to pay attention to on the dashboard after you have started the engine.
I will look if there are no warning signs, look at the oil gauge, fuel gauge, air pressure gauge.


17. What do you need to do with tachograph before starting the job and after finishing it.
Select the correct country, begin the job and go around the truck to make sure you can start driving.
After finishing I will also select the correct country and finish the job.


18. How will you check the air pressure in the tires.
With special gauge.


19. How will you check the overall tire condition so you know it is safe to be driving.
I will walk around the car and look at the tires. There should be no damage, no cuts, no bumps or screws in the tires.


20. How many fire extinguishers should be in a car and how do you know they are safe to use.
For C/CE categories there must be 1 fire extinguisher that weight 4kg or 2 fire extinguishers that weight 2kg each.
For D category you need 2 fire extinguishers that weight 4kg each.
I will check the expiry date and the arrow on the gauge should be on green.




21. How will you check that the brake lights are working.
Leave the car for safe standing, put a heavy object on a brake pedal and go out check myself.
Or ask my friend to go out and check for me.
If it is dark you can get close to a wall and press brake while looking at a side mirror and try to see if there is a reflection of the light.


22. How will you check that all lights are working.
Turn on all the lights, and then go outside myself and look if they are working.
Also I can ask help of my friend to go outside and look for me.
There laso might be a warning on the dashboard if there is a problem.


23. How will you check that the power steering is working.
If the engine is turned on, the steering wheel should be moving very easily with no additional strength. If the steering wheel requires a lot of strength to move it, there is a problem with power steering. It might even be shown on the dashboard if there is problem with it.


24. Where you will refill the window washer fluid.
On the cap it shows a window with a water stream going upwards.


25. How will you check if the turn signals are working.
Turn the turn signal on, go out and check myself. Also you can ask your friend's help. If the turn signal blinks very fast or very slow, it means the lightbulb needs to be changed.


26. How will you check that the windshield washing system is working.
I will pull the lever towards myself and try to wash my windshield. A stream of washing fluid should come out.
